There is something so beautiful about Ogden Mountain bridals. The mountains surrounding Ogden, Utah give you the most incredible backdrop for bridal portraits — tall trees, mountain views, open meadows, winding roads, and that dreamy Utah mountain scenery that makes your bridal photos feel completely timeless.
If you’re a bride getting married in Ogden, Utah, planning a wedding at Snowbasin Resort, or simply dreaming of having your bridal portraits taken somewhere beautiful in the mountains, an Ogden mountain bridal session is one of my favorite ways to capture this season of your life.
And this particular session? We almost didn’t get it done.
When we arrived for this bridal session in the Ogden Utah mountains, the sky was dark, cloudy, and looking very stormy.
We’re talking thunderstorm weather.
As a photographer, you always have to keep an eye on the weather, especially when you’re planning an outdoor bridal session in the mountains. Mountain weather can change incredibly quickly, and this day was a perfect example.
We knew we had a small window before the storm really rolled in, so we didn’t waste any time.
We started shooting and moved quickly through the locations I had planned for us. Because I know these mountains so well, I already knew where I wanted to take her, where the light would work, which backgrounds would photograph beautifully, and how to make the most of the little bit of time we had.
And I’m so glad we did.
We were able to finish the entire Ogden Mountain bridals session just before the skies opened up and turned into a complete downpour.
Talk about perfect timing!
And honestly, I love that you can’t even tell from the final images just how crazy the weather was that day.
There are so many beautiful places to take bridal portraits, but there is something special about getting your wedding dress into the mountains.
Your dress against the trees.
Your veil moving in the mountain breeze.
The mountains stretching behind you.
Soft, natural surroundings.
It creates images that feel romantic and timeless without feeling overly posed or overly complicated.
That’s one of the reasons I love photographing Ogden Mountain bridals so much.
The Ogden mountains give us so many different looks within a relatively small area. We can find dreamy mountain views, tall trees, open spaces, and beautiful natural backdrops without needing to spend your entire session driving from location to location.
That means more time taking beautiful photos and less time worrying about where we’re going next.
One of the biggest advantages of hiring a local Ogden bridal photographer is knowing where to go.
There are plenty of beautiful mountain roads and overlooks around Ogden, but not every pretty spot is going to photograph well for bridal portraits.
The location matters.
The light matters.
The time of day matters.
And knowing where to stand matters.
I’ve spent years photographing couples, families, weddings, and bridal sessions throughout Northern Utah, and I know some of the best dreamy mountain locations around Ogden for portraits.
When you book your Ogden Mountain bridals with Jennie Grange Photography, you don’t have to spend hours scrolling through Google Maps trying to find the perfect spot.
I’ll help you choose a location that fits the look you’re going for and gives us beautiful scenery for your bridal portraits.
If you’re getting married at Snowbasin Resort, an Ogden mountain bridal session can also be such a beautiful way to incorporate the mountains into your wedding photography. Even if your wedding day doesn’t allow enough time for all of the mountain portraits you’re dreaming about, a separate bridal session gives us the freedom to slow down and really create them.
My photography style is bright, timeless, romantic, and true to color.
I love beautiful creamy skin tones and natural colors. I want your dress to look white, your skin to look like your skin, and the mountains to look like the mountains actually looked that day.
That’s especially important when we’re photographing somewhere as beautiful as the Ogden Utah mountains.
I don’t want to completely change the landscape with heavy editing or make your photos look like they belong somewhere else. I want you to remember what it actually felt like to stand there in your wedding dress, surrounded by the mountains, with your soon-to-be husband waiting for you at the end of the aisle.
Dreamy doesn’t have to mean unrealistic.
For me, dreamy means beautiful light, romantic movement, creamy skin tones, natural colors, and images that still feel beautiful years from now.
One of my favorite things about bridal sessions is that they don’t have to feel stressful.
You’re getting married!
That is exciting!
I want your Ogden Mountain bridal session to feel like something you get to enjoy — not another item on your wedding to-do list.
We’ll laugh. We’ll move around. We’ll get you comfortable in front of the camera. I’ll guide you through posing so you never have to wonder, “What am I supposed to do with my hands?”
And if you’re worried that you’re not a natural in front of the camera, don’t worry. That’s literally my job.
You don’t need to know how to pose.
You don’t need to know what to do.
You just need to show up in your beautiful dress and be excited about getting married.
I’ll take care of the rest.
A bridal session gives you the opportunity to wear your wedding dress before your wedding day and create beautiful portraits without the time pressure of the actual wedding day.
You can take your time.
We can explore different mountain locations.
We can photograph your dress from every angle.
We can spend time with your veil.
And most importantly, we can create the romantic mountain portraits you’ve been saving on Pinterest without worrying about whether your wedding timeline has enough room for them.
For brides getting married at Snowbasin Resort or another Northern Utah mountain venue, I especially love the idea of incorporating the surrounding mountains into your bridal portraits.
Your wedding day will fly by.
Your bridal portraits give you a chance to slow down and enjoy being a bride.
If you’re searching for a bridal photographer in Ogden, Utah, who knows the mountains, knows how to find beautiful light, and knows how to create bright, true-to-color, dreamy images, I’d love to photograph your bridal session.
I know the Ogden Utah mountains.
I know the dreamy spots.
I know where the light works.
And I know how to make the most of a session — even when a thunderstorm is quickly approaching!
This bridal session is a perfect example. We arrived to dark skies and thunder, knew we had a limited window, and were able to photograph an entire Ogden Mountain bridals session before the rain completely poured.
That’s part of being a mountain photographer. You have to know your locations, watch the weather, and be ready to make the most of whatever the mountains give us.
And sometimes, the cloudy skies create some of the most beautiful portraits.
If you’re a bride getting married in Ogden, Utah, getting married at Snowbasin Resort, or simply dreaming of romantic bridal portraits surrounded by Utah mountains, I’d love to help you plan your Ogden Mountain bridals.
Your wedding is one of the most exciting seasons of your life.
